The pizza was great, but there are a lot of great pizzas out there. I'm giving them 4 stars because the staff was so helpful. It was 5 but I took one away because it took a while to get the pie. I had never been to Buddy's before, and I don't eat pork products, so I was stressing about what to order till Xavier suggested the Margherita specialty pizza. That wasn't what my date wanted so he did a half and half (not everyone will do that with specialty pizzas). We couldn't find a coupon, but he offered one of his own that was better anyway. He gave me a good recipe for homemade Gatorade, and a free soda (I'm from the south and they are called SODAS people) for the long wait. This could have been an awkward disaster of a cheap date, but it turned out to be a pleasant cheap date and Xavier had a lot to do with the good experience. Enjoy him while you have him Buddy, try to get him to train someone before he moves on, but don't think you can keep him there. Kids like that usually rise to the top.

As much as I love the other Buddy's locations this has to be my new favorite. Why? The prices! You can get individual-ready made slices for 1.99 each. That's like getting a 4 square for $8! And even better are their specials. 2 slices of pizza and a pop for under $5 OR 1 slice, a side salad (which was awesome BTW) and a pop for under $5. And the pieces seem to have more cheese than a traditional Buddy's slice, so if you're a cheese lover this is a place. Seems they don't let the pieces brown enough, but they still have a nice crispy edge and that DELICIOUS signature Buddy's crust. If I didn't live so dang far I'd be here weekly.

I might as well I'm right here! Was leaving St Johns..called ahead to order ribs from Smokeys BBQ on Harper....but the number was disconnected ..plan B! Will Buddys have slices at 8:15 . .? yes they did..and a great gal filled with smiles on the register. $2.11 for one solid slice!

This place is great because of the pizza but sometimes the execution misses the mark. For example sometimes the pizza is undercooked or wilted, missing something like the signature crust is lacking proper cooking or something. Otherwise this pizza is the bomb. This location is inside a strip mall so it's kind of small and doesn't have beer or wine. Also, where are the little pepperoni's? They were better by far, anybody older than 30 knows what I'm talking about. Better pizza execution is at the original location on Conant in Hamtramck and a better sit down location is on 13 mile and Van Dyke. Those are closer to 5 Stars.

2 gripes: the slices are hit or miss. Meaning sometimes they're fresh and sometimes they sit under a heater for a while. My other gripe is price. For a medium 4 slice couple toppings it's like $15. Definitely outrageous price but the pizza is FANTASTIC. I love the sauce on top of the cheese and love the crunchy crust. Buddy's has a perfect thickness too. Crunch without being a thin crust. No alcohol here and it's a very small shop located in a strip mall which can be sketchy at times. But I've been going here for years and never had a problem with the establishment or the location.

Like others have said, the pizza slices are hit or miss. Sometimes even inedible, but most times just so-so. Also, don't bother with the subs. They are mostly bread, and rather flat in taste. Also a little pricey for the quality.

if you go here after 8pm don't expect to get what you order because they close and lock up at 9pm; meaning you are out. no call in orders after 7:30 pm for a pizza and you close at 9pm ? they refuse to honor even their own off website coupons and the prices here are not the same as at the other locations. slow uninterested and rude service means I'll never go here again. this is not the type of place to go if you actually intend to eat pizza. Trust Us - Best to go to the original Buddys Rendevous Pizza on Conant or don't bother with this satellite franchise.
